Music History: Remembering the 1989 all-star version of 'Smoke on the Water'

November 27th is a big date in music history. I mean, Jimi Hendrix was born on this date. It’s hard to believe he would be 76 today if he was still with us!

Lets go back 29 years and check out a great music clip that I recently stumbled across on YouTube. You may remember this one!

The year was 1989.  An all-star update of Deep Purple’s ‘Smoke on the Water’ was released, with proceeds from the single helping victims of the 1988 earthquake in Soviet Armenia.

Besides Deep Purple, the session included members  of Pink Floyd, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Queen and Iron Maiden.

Love this!

Have a BIG one!
