What is VegFest?
VegFests are community festivals celebrating plant-based living. A tradition that spans decades, VegFests have become increasingly popular in recent years as awareness grows of the environmental and health benefits of a vegan diet. Kingston VegFest was started in 2016 by members of the Kingston Vegetarian Network, with backgrounds in health promotion, animal advocacy, social justice and community building.
This free event features 65+ vendors, cooking demos, delicious food and myriad vegan-friendly products for all to enjoy. Kingston VegFest attracts over 5,000 attendees each year.
Kingston VegFest is community minded. Proceeds are shared with two local non-profit farmed animal sanctuaries, Home Free Farm and Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary. In 2017, we collected over 700 lbs of veg-friendly food for local food banks.
