Kingston Canadian Film Festival

The Kingston Canadian Film Festival (KCFF) unveiled their full 2023 lineup on Thursday
evening. For its 23rd edition, the Festival is delighted to be back in full swing for an
entirely in-person festival running in downtown Kingston from March 2-5, 2023.

KCFF is the largest all-Canadian film festival, delivering a whirlwind of movies and special
events that spark curiosity and ignite discussion. Each Festival, long-time festival goers
and first-time enthusiasts can explore screenings, Q+As, parties, networking events, live
music, and more!

This year audiences can expect a robust program of features, including TIFF top 10 picks
BLACK ICE, BROTHER, I LIKE MOVIES, TO KILL A TIGER, ROSIE, VIKING, and the KCFF opening
night film RICEBOY SLEEPS. A healthy dose of shorts programs is also on offer, including
dedicated categories for local and youth filmmakers, plus a spotlight on the work of
filmmaker Mike Downie, which will include an extended Q&A between Downie and Elamin
Abdelmahmoud.

KCFF23 is undertaking a new venture this year as they expand into the Grand Theatre for
three special events. Each screening features a film or program shot in Kingston. The line-up
includes the much anticipated DEN MOTHER CRIMSON (Branded to Film Productions), the
Bicycle Opera Company’s SWEAT – an opera filmed in Kingston’s Inner Harbour, and the
SLAIGHT MUSIC VIDEO SHOWCASE, which premieres videos from the 11 local production
companies and bands who were selected as part of the Slaight Music Video Initiative.
