The KHS, in conjunction with Princess Animal Hospital & Downtown Animal Hospital, is offering a short and informative course on pet first aid. This seminar is intended to be a practical overview of initial treatment for the injuries or emergencies most commonly encountered with pets — mainly dogs, although there will be some recommendations for cats and exotic pets. Topics will include allergic reactions, artificial respiration, bandaging, wound care, bleeding, broken bones, CPR, foreign bodies, handling, heat stroke, porcupine quills and seizures. Cost: $50.00 (includes a take-home first aid kit). Register by phone with credit card or at the shelter with debit, cash or credit card. Payment is due when you register.
