Clean out your closets in support of Kingston’s Almost Home

Kingston Waterfront Rotary Club invites the community to donate gently used clothing items and accessories in support of Almost Home.

On Saturday, October 16, 10am-3pm, clothing items and accessories for all ages and genders will be accepted to replenish Almost Home YGK Thrift, a used clothing store with 100% of the proceeds going to support the non-profit, registered charitable organization Almost Home.

Volunteers from Kingston Waterfront Rotary Club will accept donations of gently used clothing and accessories at JSM Centre parking lot (across from the Kingston Centre) at 1043 Princess St. on Sat. October 16 from 10am-3pm.

“The Kingston Waterfront Rotary Club has supported Almost Home financially in the past,” says Dave Hallett, the Club’s President. “This time we are doing one of our signature community-focused events where our Club members come together with help from Kingstonians for one day to make a big difference for such an
important organization.”

Kingston Waterfront Rotary Club gratefully acknowledges the support of Capital Movers and Storage and Go Oil F016 Servicing Kingston – Cameron Jennings. Quote from Almost Home About Kingston Waterfront Rotary Club:

Kingston Waterfront Rotary Club members contribute their unique perspectives, skill sets, and ‘sweat equity’ to tackle issues both locally and internationally. The result is an enthusiastic arm of Rotary, offering its membership and our community at large an exciting opportunity for rewarding fellowship, meaningful experiences, and a lasting legacy. The Club, whose unofficial motto is “shenanigans and dogoodery” meets Mondays from 5:30-6:30pm at the RCHA Club on Ontario Street.

Everyone is welcome.

About Almost Home:
Almost Home is a charitable organization, operating in Kingston, that
provides temporary accommodation to families whose children are receiving
medical treatment in Kingston area hospitals.
Many families must travel a distance to receive treatment at Kingston-area
hospitals for their ill or injured child. When a child is receiving
treatment, the healing process can only be improved when a child is
surrounded by the love and support of their family. Almost Home provides a
comfortable and caring environment – a temporary home-away-from-home – for
families to get a much needed break from hospital surroundings. Whether they are
looking to rejuvenate or to relax, whether it is for weeks, days or an hour, Almost
Home is a source of relief that families with sick children have come to rely on.
